One Year Since It All Began
A year ago today, Tinker & Tot stopped being just an idea and became something real.
Twelve months ago, we started building our brand from the ground up. We spent countless hours working on the website, choosing products we truly believed in, reaching out to suppliers, and dreaming about what Tinker & Tot could become.
Looking back now, it's amazing to see how far we've come.
Of course, it hasn't all been plain sailing.
We've faced delayed deliveries, supplier challenges, and one particularly frustrating hurdle with Google that dramatically reduced our visibility and made it much harder for new customers to find us. At times, it felt like we were putting everything into growing Tinker & Tot, only for things completely outside our control to hold us back.
Away from the business, life didn't slow down either. Between family life, working our supermarket jobs, and trying to build Tinker & Tot during every spare daytime, evening and weekend, there have definitely been moments where we've questioned whether there were enough hours in the day.
But we've kept going.
And this past week, after months of trying to resolve our Google issues, we finally got everything sorted. It's still early days, but we're already seeing positive results, and it feels like a huge weight has been lifted. For the first time in a long time, we're excited to see what the next chapter brings.
As we reflect on this first year, the overwhelming feeling isn't frustration over the challenges, it's gratitude.
Thank you to every single person who has placed an order with us.
Thank you if you've liked one of our social media posts, left us a review, recommended us to a friend, shared one of our posts, or simply followed along on our journey.
Every order, every comment, every share and every kind word has meant more to us than you'll probably ever know. As a small business, those little acts of support genuinely keep us going.
Tinker & Tot is still growing. We still have so many ideas, so many exciting brands we'd love to introduce, and so many plans for the future.
This first year has taught us that building something meaningful takes time, patience, and a lot of perseverance.
We couldn't have done it without you.
Here's to everything we've achieved together over the past twelve months, and to everything that's still to come.
Thank you for believing in Tinker & Tot.
With love,
Katie & Beth x
